Beau is a Chocolate Lab, the very best . . . smooth and silky dark chocolate. He is 3 years old with good energy and a great physique. His experienced devoted foster mom, who has just completed graduate school, reports, "Beau is essentially perfect. He is trustworthy with free roam of the house. He gets along with our crazy crew. We went to Chatfield Reservoir and he swam and followed all commands and came back when we called him. He sleeps on his own bed next to my bed. He is tennis ball obsessed and loves to play fetch. No food aggression. He is a lover and is a momma's boy and should have a home where his brothers and sisters are furry canines; no cat data yet. And no human kids. Beau is so well mannered!!! He will be an easy fit. He will be happiest, by far, in a family with another dog because he has always had doggy siblings."

To learn more about becoming Beau's forever family, please apply today and our volunteers will be in touch. Beau would love to meet you too.

Flo, is a beautiful blond purebred Golden Retriever. She is so sweet, loving, and cuddly. If you are looking for love, keep reading!

Flo's foster mom writes, "Flo lights up the room when she greets you. Flo is a classic Golden girl with the sweetest personality. Flo loves to go for walks. She is great on leash and has very good house manners. 'Of course, I do . . . I am a grown up Golden. Flo knows all about love because she has had 12 years to hone her skills. She adores her humans. She adores her stuffed teddy bear too, and carries him around in her mouth, everywhere she goes. When she is ready for a rest, she gently licks teddy and then positions him right under her chin for a little pillow. So sweet! Flo also loves to roll around in the grass. You will just love to watch the way she rolls and rolls and rolls with happiness. She doesn't love steps, and will need a home without too many that she would need to to climb. Flo sleeps through the night and has a great appetite. She loves to be right there with you whether you are watching a movie or working on your computer. A doggy sibling (no kitties or kitty size dogs please) would be real nice but you are who she wants most of all."

To learn how to make Flo your very own furry family member, apply today and our volunteers will be in touch. Flo will light up your life with her love!

Are you a loving leader for your dog? Are you looking for a brother for your dog? And a smart, young, handsome, loving, cuddly and energetic buddy for you too? A Golden Retriever mix to share your time together, hiking, running, and just hanging out together? Then keep reading. . . Remi just may be your GRFR Golden!

Remi is around 2 years old, strong athletic around 80 lbs. Truly Golden-hearted and ready to find his forever family. He came to GRFR from the stray life on his own -- hard to imagine how he did it! So he is still learning some of the finer points of family dogs who are raised from puppyhood by loving humans. Remi is doing really well with his foster family. So well that they would love to adopt him, but they have three resuce dogs of their own already.

Like all vital, young, healthy dogs Remi thrives on activity and exercise. With Spring here and Summer coming soon, Remi will be sure that you are in shape too! Remi loves anything and everything to do with the out of doors -- especially being with you. He says, "Outdoors with you is the best: hikes, jogs, laps at the dog park, and daily walks. Let's go now!" Remi also craves sharing relaxed and homey indoor time with you -- cuddling on the couch while you watch a movie, laying by your feet while you do desk work, or just hanging out with you and your friends and their dogs. He is a golden-hearted velcro guy . . . who loves to have you near, whether you are hiking, camping, dreaming, reading, cooking or unwinding after a long day.

Remi has a short list of just four "gotta haves" to share with you:
** A dog sibling -- being an only dog is not for him; other dogs are so much fun! If you are real active and home a lot you can be his doggy sibling too.
** No small kids -- they are a little too unpredictable for Remi
** A yard with privacy type fence -- 5 ft or taller as Remi is "part kangaroo" LOL
** Loving leadership and TLC from his humans -- he promises his loyalty and unconditional love to you

To learn more and to make a great GRFR guy like Remi your very own furry family member, apply today and our volunteers will be in touch. Remi sure would love to meet you. . . he will have his running shoes and hiking boots ready too.

Sophia 276-11

Sophia picture 2 Sophia picture 3 Sophia picture 1

Sophia is a beautiful purebred Golden Retriever. Before coming to GRFR, Sophia's spent her first six years of her life making adorable puppies. She is grateful to be starting her new life here in Colorado.

Sophia is comfortable with other dogs, cats, and children too. You will see that she is still shy and tentative with many adults. You will also see that living indoors with her own family, her own soft and clean doggy bed, her own food bowl, leash walks, and lots of love are new experience for Sophia. Just imagine! As a result, you will need to have an extra measure of love, patience and TLC to guide Sophia on her journey from mill-mom to furry family member. You will also need a doggy sibling for Sophia, who will guide her, as only another dog can guide her, on her new life's journey. "Yes, I will show Sophia all about happy family dogginess and she will learn day by day, from us, that her new world a safe, welcoming and welcoming place."

Update: Sophia's foster family reports," Sophia is really opening up and starting to show her inner Golden. She is learning to have fun outside in the yard where she sometimes runs around silly as fast as she can hoping her foster mom will chase her. She is also starting to enjoy her leash walks and tries to be such a brave girl when scary things happen around her. She no longer stops and tries to go back, but forges ahead. She still startles easily, but comes to investigate when her foster mom shows her it's no big deal. Her big confident foster siblings reinforce how fun life is, so at least one other large happy dog in her forever home is a must, as she just doesn't bond to smaller dogs.

And! More good news from Sophia herself, This is my first summer of freedom and I have decided I like water. Some special someone will get the joys of teaching me all about summer fun. My foster mom says it is a bonding experience like no other to teach adult dogs like me to play, swim in the water, and discover joys I never knew were out there. To enjoy instead of fear the outside."

Sophia is an easy girl to have around and even easier to love. She loves people, kids and does well with cats. Sophia would like a fun loving, easy going family who will understand her and encourage her braveness. She will also benefit from obedience classes to help her build confidence and strengthen her bond with you."

GRFR's volunteers have lots of helpful experience and information to share with you about helping dogs like Sweet Sophia make their transition to family life. To learn more about a lovely lady like Sophia becoming your very own furry family member, apply today. Our volunteers will be in touch. Sophia will be very happy to meet you and her doggy sibling too.

Charlie/Husker 05-12

Charlie/Husker picture 1 Charlie/Husker picture 2 Charlie/Husker picture 3

Charlie/Husker is one amazing dog. He's got energy, but he likes to cuddle. He's a slender little guy, but he can eat. And he's a smart, happy-go-lucky, and curious pup --sometimes we call him Monkey, cause it fits!

Husker is a one-and-a-half year-old Golden Retriever mix - likely mixed with a shepherd of sorts - and he's got the cutest little spots on his face to show it. He was a stray, so little is known about the early years of his life, but since he's become a Coloradoan, he gets along great with other dog -- he and his foster brother have become such great friends - and is very, very well-behaved. Husker is house trained, doesn't chew, gets free reign of the house when his foster family is away, and knows his basic commands. Because he has lots of energy, Husker will do best in a family with children over the age of 12 and he'd thrive in a family that has one other adult dog who is confident, active and playful.

One thing to mention about Husker's health is that he has acute seizures that impact his behavior, which is only noticable in that he's often looking and searching for a light or reflection to play with. He has great vision, a good physical bill-of-health otherwise and is young and spry. He would, however, need a family who can keep up on his daily meds (which are very inexpensive) and give him a safe, loving home. All it takes to win Husker's heart is a little attention and a lot of love. Are you his forever family? He can't wait to meet you!
