ORIGINAL ADOPTION BIO: Are you looking for love? Meet Piper! She is a very pretty Labrador Retriever mix, just about 2 years old, sweet, cuddly, and smart. Piper loves her humans, her squeaky toys, balls, bones and playing or hanging out with you in the yard. Like many of our younger dogs, it will be best for Miss Piper to not have a doggy door. "When you are out and about without me, I am fine in the house, and I will sleep in my crate at night if you want me to."
Piper will make sure that you keep your counter tops cleared with the foody dishes in the dishwasher. You see, she is trying out for the doggy Olympics in counter surfing, having done quite well in the tryouts. Like many rescue dogs, Piper is timid initially of new people and new dogs. Our trainer has recommended some exercises for her and we will tell you all about that before you meet Piper. Our trainer has also told us that Piper needs a calm forever family home with older children, and where she can be your solo GRFR girl.

My name is Franklin, but my friends call my Frankie. I'm a 2-year-old, medium-sized yellow Labrador Retriever who loves snuggling (with humans and canines alike!), toys, playing with my foster brothers, and going on walks. Not to brag too much, but I'm a pretty smart guy. I know basic commands like "sit" and, of course, I am house trained. and I even taught myself to use my foster family's doggy door in less than a day!
As you can see, I'm a very happy, easy-going boy, but I do have one special request for my future family. I'm a popular guy around grown-up humans and other doggies, but I need to go to a home with no human kids -- I just tend to do better in those types of environments. If you're interested in being my new snuggle buddy, or another lucky GRFR dogs best friend, fill out an application -- I'd love to meet you!
Flo, aka "Sunshine" is a beautiful blond purebred Golden Retriever. She is so sweet, loving, and cuddly. If you are looking for love, keep reading!
Sunshine's foster mom writes, " I call her 'Sunshine' because she lights up the room, and she lights up when she greets you. Sunshine is a classic Golden girl with the sweetest personality. She is great with our other Golden, a younger male. She loves to go for walks. She is great on leash and has very good house manners. 'Of course, I do . . . I am a grown up Golden.' Sunshine knows all about love because she has had 12 years to hone her skills. She adores her humans. She adores her stuffed teddy bear too, and carries him around in her mouth, everywhere she goes. When they stop for a rest, she gently licks teddy and then positions him right under her chin for a little pillow. So sweet! Sunshine also loves to roll around in the grass. You will just love to watch the way she rolls and rolls and rolls with happiness. She doesn't love steps, and will need a home without too many that she would need to to climb. Sunshine sleeps through the night and has a great appetite. She loves to be right there with you whether you are watching a movie or working on your computer. A doggy sibling (no kitties or kitty size dogs please) would be real nice but you are who she wants most of all."

Samuel is an 8-10 yr old purebred Golden Retriever. Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue stepped up for Samuel when we were contacted by an out-of-state shelter where Samuel found himself -- alone and down on this luck. Now that he is here, Samuel is looking for an especially loving home for lots of TLC, which he will return ten times over to you!
Mr. Samuel is a gentleman, sweet as can be and sooooo happy to be here with his loving foster family, who reports, "Sam is a sweet and gentle soul. He has fit into our family so beautifully. He is kind to the dogs and was totally mesmerized by the kitties. He would just stare at them as if he didn't know just what they were. He has never bothered them! Samuel quickly discovered the comfy dog beds. And he he sure every comfort. His eyes and ears are doing fine now and he is getting rid of the yeast that has made him itchy. He is gaining weight with a few more pounds to go to reach his ideal weight. And his lovely honey colored golden coat is filling in and getting silky too with good food and special shampoo. We are taking care of his heart worm -- which is both preventable and curable. Got to say, no matter what is going on, Samuel never stops wagging his tail and reaching out to you for love and pets. He is a very special gentleman who deserves a very special family."

Are you looking for a young, sweet, loving handsome, cuddly and energetic Golden Retriever mix velcro buddy to go hiking with you, to go for a run, or to just hang out with you and cuddle, on the couch? Well look no further, Remi is your man!
Found as a stray, Remi came to his GRFR foster home seeking some TLC and boy did he find it! And boy can he give it back -- many times over.
Remi is around a year or two old so he is still learning about the good life. As a result, you will be Remi's match if you a savvy dog person, without young children, and with another dog to help Remi learn about family dogginess. And you will need the time and devotion to give Remi the guidance and the exercise and training that will make you the envy of other GRFR families!
Exercise! Remi will be sure that you keep your New Year's resolution to get, or stay in shape. You see, Remi LOVES anything and everything to do with the out of doors -- especially exercise. From keeping up with you hiking and snowshoeing adventures to running laps at the dog park to daily jogs and walk, Remi appreciates it all. He also craves time with you -- cuddling on the couch while you watch a movie or just hanging out with you and your friends and their dogs. He is your typical velcro Golden . . . who will keep you close by, whether you are doing desk work, dishes, cooking or relaxing after a long day.
As far as training, Remi is a quick study and will benefit from obedience classes with you. As for other other dogs, Remi has two four-legged best friends he can't get enough of. His foster folks feel strongly that he will thrive with a doggy sibling. He just loves other dogs and he is learning so much from his foster siblings already.
Remi needs a home with a yard, with a fence that is 5 feet or taller, and no chin link please. This is for his safety and your peace of mind.
If Remi sounds like the furry family member you have been looking for, apply today and our volunteers will be in touch. Remi will be all set to help you keep those New Year's resolutions and show you the love!!
